Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, the British musician and internet personality known as Yung Filly, was cleared of rape charges stemming from an incident in Australia. The trial followed an accusation that he sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman in his hotel room after a 2024 performance in the Perth suburb of Hillarys.
A jury delivered not guilty verdicts on three counts of sexual penetration without consent on Friday. However, the panel remained deadlocked on three additional counts of the same charge. While Barrientos was acquitted of strangulation and assault occasioning bodily harm, jurors did return a guilty verdict on two counts of assault.
Barrientos gained prominence as a member of the YouTube group Beta Squad and has appeared on British television programs, including the celebrity edition of Bake Off and various BBC Three productions.
