Former Security Lead for Khana LGA Murdered by Unknown Assailants

A former security official, Letam Kine, was shot and killed in Khana LGA, prompting a police investigation into the violent incident.

Letam Kine, the previous Chief Security Officer for the Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, has been murdered. The victim was fatally shot on Sunday evening near Polytechnic Road in Bori around 6 p.m.

ASP Blessing Agabe, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police, verified the occurrence on Monday in Port Harcourt. She noted that the attackers escaped before law enforcement reached the location, and the victim’s remains have been moved to a mortuary for an upcoming autopsy.

The police have initiated an inquiry to determine the details of the shooting. Agabe emphasized that the command is determined to capture those responsible and requested that the family assist by officially reporting the case. Furthermore, Chief Thomas Bariere, the Chairman of Khana Local Government, denounced the killing as a hollow act of brutality. Bariere lamented the tragedy, noting its occurrence shortly after the death of Clement Deegbara in the Kpong community.
