Inter Milan signs John Stones following Manchester City exit

England international defender John Stones has finalized a move to Italian champions Inter Milan on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract with Manchester City.

English international John Stones has officially signed with Serie A titleholders Inter Milan as a free agent, committing to a two-year deal. The 32-year-old center-back departed Manchester City at the conclusion of June, marking the end of a decade-long tenure.

Reflecting on his time at the Etihad, Stones expressed satisfaction with achieving his professional ambitions, having secured six Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, and numerous domestic honors. Following his release from City, he drew attention from major European clubs like Juventus and Chelsea.

Having started his professional journey at Barnsley before a high-profile move from Everton in 2016, Stones logged 295 appearances and netted 19 goals for Manchester City. The veteran defender, who boasts 93 caps for England, was a key figure during the team’s recent World Cup campaign. Inter Milan, who secured their 21st Italian league title last season, are scheduled to open their new campaign against Monza on August 22.
