Southern Brave extend perfect streak with victory over Birmingham Phoenix

Southern Brave maintained their unbeaten record in The Hundred, overcoming Birmingham Phoenix by 24 runs to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Southern Brave secured their fourth straight win in The Hundred, defeating bottom-ranked Birmingham Phoenix by 24 runs at the Utilita Bowl. The unbeaten leaders posted a total of 140-3, bolstered by a 68-run opening stand between Maia Bouchier, who scored 45, and Lizelle Lee, who contributed 43.

In response, Phoenix struggled to build momentum. Although opener Davina Perrin recorded a 43-ball 52, the team finished on 116-5. Phoenix captain Sophie Molineux was particularly effective with the ball, taking 2-24, while tight spells from Lauren Bell and Tilly Corteen-Coleman stifled the visitors’ chase.

With this result, Southern Brave now hold a six-point lead at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Birmingham Phoenix remain at the bottom of the table, having recorded two wins and one no-result from their three outings.
