London Spirit has officially been eliminated from The Hundred competition after suffering a four-wicket defeat against MI London before a record-breaking crowd of 27,721 at Lord’s. The Spirit posted a total of 160-5, fueled by a 52-run contribution from Lhuan-Dre Pretorius and 30 not out from James Coles.
In response, MI London successfully chased the target with six balls to spare. Despite a difficult requirement of 70 runs from 37 balls, Sam Curran contributed 33, while Sikandar Raza provided a crucial 32 runs off 16 deliveries in his first game of the season. Nicholas Pooran also added 39 to the total before being run out. Tom Curran and Ollie Pope successfully steered the team to victory.
This result elevates MI London to second place in the standings, bolstering their path to the knockout stages. Conversely, the defeat marks a disappointing season for the London Spirit, who have managed only one win in six matches under head coach Andy Flower.
