Southern Brave secured their fourth straight win in The Hundred, defeating bottom-ranked Birmingham Phoenix by 24 runs at the Utilita Bowl. The unbeaten leaders posted a total of 140-3, bolstered by a 68-run opening stand between Maia Bouchier, who scored 45, and Lizelle Lee, who contributed 43.
In response, Phoenix struggled to build momentum. Although opener Davina Perrin recorded a 43-ball 52, the team finished on 116-5. Phoenix captain Sophie Molineux was particularly effective with the ball, taking 2-24, while tight spells from Lauren Bell and Tilly Corteen-Coleman stifled the visitors’ chase.
With this result, Southern Brave now hold a six-point lead at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Birmingham Phoenix remain at the bottom of the table, having recorded two wins and one no-result from their three outings.
