Femi Otedola Increases Stake in First HoldCo to 26% Following N222 Billion Purchase

Femi Otedola has expanded his interest in First HoldCo Plc to 26% after acquiring shares worth N222.2 billion, reinforcing his status as the primary individual investor.

Femi Otedola, the Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, has bolstered his ownership in the company by purchasing 1.779 billion additional shares for N222.209 billion. This move was officially confirmed in a filing with the Nigerian Exchange Limited, signed by company secretary Abiola Baruwa.

The shares were bought through Calvados Global Services Limited, an entity owned by Otedola, at a price of N124.90 each. This transaction boosts his total stake in the bank from 21.96% to roughly 26%, bringing his total share count to 11.77 billion.

This is the second significant acquisition by the businessman this month; he previously purchased 706.13 million shares for N77.58 billion on July 22, 2026. These combined investments place his total commitment in First HoldCo at approximately N1.47 trillion, solidifying his position as the bank’s top individual shareholder.
