Senator Obinna Ogba, the Chairman of Abakaliki FC, has delivered a firm directive to prospective players currently attending the club’s talent identification sessions. These trials are intended to build the squad for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Addressing the participants, Ogba emphasized that selection remains strictly in the hands of the technical staff. He cautioned candidates against shifting blame toward coaches for their own performance, noting that no manager would overlook a genuinely skilled athlete. Only those who satisfy the specific standards set by the coaching team will earn a spot on the roster.
Abakaliki FC is in the midst of its preseason preparations. While the club previously kept 26 members from the prior campaign, the final list of new recruits will be unveiled shortly before the competition officially begins.
