Demola Olarenwaju, a key political aide to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated on Wednesday that his party anticipates no obstacles in the upcoming 2027 general election. During an interview with News Central TV, Olarenwaju emphasized that the electoral process must be shaped by the choices of the electorate rather than courtroom interventions.
Olarenwaju asserted that democracy should thrive through the ballot box. He argued that the ruling party, if confident in its performance, should welcome a fair contest on the field. According to him, the winning side should be determined by the will of the people, and any electoral defeat must be accepted with grace. He further encouraged former members who previously distanced themselves from the ADC due to judicial concerns to return, noting that now is the time to unify the opposition to challenge the ruling government effectively.
