Peter Obi Urges Nigerians to Register for 2027 Elections

Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate Peter Obi calls on citizens to register to vote, describing it as the essential first step toward national reform for the 2027 cycle.

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, has urged citizens across the nation to prioritize registering to vote. In a statement shared on X this Thursday, Obi emphasized that voter registration serves as the fundamental building block for achieving a transformed Nigeria.

Obi highlighted that the capacity to reform the country is established long before election day through active registration. He framed this process as both a fundamental duty and a strategic investment in the nation’s future. While visiting Waru Wazobia in Abuja, the candidate spoke directly with residents, specifically appealing to women and young people to participate in the current registration cycle.

The former presidential contender stressed that a better nation cannot be realized through mere hope. Instead, he called for concrete action, urging those who are eligible to sign up immediately and encouraging others to do the same. Obi concluded by advocating for collective participation, stating that rebuilding the nation requires citizens to choose active engagement over indifference.
