Nigerian Army soldiers participating in Operation HADIN KAI captured two individuals suspected of assisting Boko Haram and ISWAP. The operation took place in the Magumeri region of Borno State based on specific intelligence. Security expert Zagazola Makama reported the incident, noting that the 109 Special Forces Battalion worked alongside Hybrid Forces to execute the raid at 5:08 a.m. on July 28.
The detainees have been identified as 20-year-old Modu Collu and 47-year-old Bashir Goni Tijani, both local to the Magumeri area. During initial questioning, the men reportedly confirmed their association with insurgent groups active in the vicinity. Soldiers seized a Tecno mobile phone from Collu, which is currently undergoing forensic examination.
The two suspects and the electronic evidence are slated for transfer to the Joint Intelligence Fusion Centre for detailed scrutiny. This effort falls under Operation DESERT SANITY V, an initiative designed to break down terror support structures and logistics within North-East Nigeria. While military officials describe the regional climate as stable, they emphasize that troops remain vigilant and fully prepared for potential threats.
