Soldiers under Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully saved Dr. Aminu Yusuf, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, while neutralizing several kidnapping operations across Zamfara State. Acting on verified intelligence regarding terrorist incursions, the military moved to secure affected communities in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.
The militants initially struck the Rector’s home on Tsohon-Tasha Street, where they tragically killed a 46-year-old guard, Malam Isah Bello, and wounded 35-year-old Sharhabilu Haruna. Despite these efforts to capture Dr. Yusuf and his family, the military’s arrival forced the assailants to retreat, leaving the hostages unharmed.
In a separate mission, patrols arrived at Tungan Dorawa Community in Barkeji Village to stop an ongoing kidnapping attempt. By engaging the criminals in pursuit, the troops prevented further abductions. A parallel operation saw the rescue of Alhaji Azaria, a 56-year-old businessman, alongside 21 other individuals taken from nearby properties.
A 45-year-old man named Falalu Yusuf was captured during the Tsohon-Tasha operation on suspicion of acting as an informant for the attackers. He has been transferred to the local police for processing. Authorities continue to urge the public to cooperate with security personnel to ensure regional safety.
