Dan Ulasi, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has voiced strong disapproval regarding Nyesom Wike’s public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 elections. Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was criticized by Ulasi during a recent appearance on ARISE News.
While acknowledging that Wike possesses the fundamental right to support any political candidate, Ulasi argued that making such a move while holding a high-ranking position in the opposition party is inappropriate. He noted that although Wike serves in the current administration, declaring support for the President several years before the election undermines the morale of PDP supporters.
Ulasi suggested that it would have been more prudent for the Minister to delay such declarations until the electoral season was underway. The party chieftain maintains that Wike’s continued affiliation with the PDP while openly favoring the ruling party creates confusion and frustration among members who are working to build opposition strength for upcoming electoral contests.
