The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Imo State has declared its full readiness for the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in a potential victory. During a gathering in Owerri, the party chairman, Chief Ernest Njesi, confirmed that the organization has officially submitted the list of its candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This roster includes 3 Senate contenders, 10 hopefuls for the House of Representatives, and 27 candidates vying for positions in the Imo State House of Assembly. Chief Njesi noted that the party will maintain a visible presence across local communities to promote its platform and gain voter trust. Furthermore, he revealed that Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, the party’s leader in the state, intends to pursue the Imo East senatorial seat before eventually seeking the governorship of Imo State.
The leadership also addressed recent vandalism targeting their state secretariat and a party billboard. They blamed rival political factions for these incidents but insisted that such intimidation tactics would not deter their campaign efforts. Publicity Secretary Amb. Steve Nnadi encouraged the media to provide objective coverage and urged citizens to back the APP in the upcoming cycle.
