Shehu Sani, a former senator for Kaduna Central, has labeled recent claims regarding the death of former military leader Sani Abacha as inaccurate. Sani urged the public to disregard these reports, arguing that the author failed to present credible evidence and relied solely on storytelling.
This rebuttal follows allegations made by Dennis Amachree, a former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (DSS). In his memoir titled DSS @40: My Journey Behind the Shield, Amachree stated that the former dictator passed away from cardiac arrest while with a woman at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The incident allegedly occurred around 4:05 a.m. in June 1998, when Amachree was serving as an Assistant Director of Operations and Intelligence for the Lagos Command.
