Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, the governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, has declared that his party will reject any attempts to rig or distort the results of the 2027 gubernatorial election. During a meeting with supporters in Nafada and nearby areas on Wednesday, Pantami addressed the public in Hausa.
He called upon Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the current state administration to guarantee a transparent and equitable electoral environment as the campaign season approaches. Pantami asserted that the voters in Gombe are now too discerning to permit their ballots to be disregarded or squandered. He emphasized that the PDP aims to center its campaign on substantive issues rather than resorting to personal attacks or aggressive behavior.
The candidate urged local residents to exercise their right to vote without fear of intimidation. He confirmed that the PDP is committed to unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) using legitimate democratic methods. Furthermore, Pantami criticized the APC government for its inability to enhance the welfare of the citizenry, claiming that state contracts are disproportionately granted to a select few. He concluded by thanking his base for their loyalty and encouraged them to sustain their efforts leading up to the 2027 polls.
