Writing on X following the events at New York New Jersey Stadium, Morgan described the Argentine players as violent thugs and a disgrace to the sport. He expressed his pleasure at seeing them lose. Throughout the 2026 final, Argentina played a highly physical game, resulting in referee Slavko Vincic issuing seven yellow cards and one red card, all to the Argentine side. Enzo Fernandez was sent off in second-half stoppage time after receiving a second yellow card, forcing Argentina to finish the match with ten men.
