Soldiers assigned to Sector 1 of Operation WHIRL STROKE successfully blocked a kidnapping plot after receiving an urgent report from residents in Benue State’s Ukum Local Government Area.
Security officials noted that the event unfolded around 11:30 a.m. on July 14. Military units based in Kyado were alerted to criminal activity involving suspected kidnappers within the Azendachi and Atsaam wards.
The soldiers reached the location promptly after the call, which forced the criminals to abandon their plans and escape the area. While the suspects managed to get away, security forces seized three motorcycles left behind at the scene.
Authorities are currently working to track down those responsible. Meanwhile, the military has increased local patrols to maintain order and prevent future security threats.
