Operation Fasan Yamma soldiers successfully freed six individuals who fled their kidnappers due to intense military aerial and ground operations in Zamfara State. According to a report provided to the News Agency of Nigeria, the rescue occurred last Friday along the Gwashi-Bukuyyum road after the victims managed to break free.
These individuals had been held for months before escaping during an airstrike performed by the Nigerian Air Force near the Bagega Forest. They were intercepted by soldiers from the 1 Brigade Combat Team 6 stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Gwashi. The rescued persons are Muhammad Sani, Junaidu Muhammad, Abubakar Abdullahi, Abubakar Barau, Surajo Abubakar, and Nasiru Hakilu, all hailing from the Bukuyyum Local Government Area. Authorities are currently working to assist them and reunite them with their families as military campaigns against regional criminal groups continue.
