Harri Wilde secures loan transfer from Cardiff to Ospreys

Cardiff fly-half Harri Wilde will spend the 2026-27 season on loan with the Ospreys to gain further experience following the return of Jarrod Evans to Cardiff.

Cardiff fly-half Harri Wilde has moved to the Ospreys on a season-long loan agreement. The 21-year-old heads to Swansea to serve as cover for Dan Edwards, following the return of Wales international Jarrod Evans to the Arms Park. Cardiff holds the option to recall Wilde if required.

This arrangement addresses a depth issue at the Ospreys caused by the departure of Jack Walsh to Montauban. Cardiff, meanwhile, adds Evans to a rotation that includes Callum Sheedy and Ioan Lloyd. Wilde described the move as a valuable chance to test himself within a different environment and gain experience under new coaching staff.

Cardiff head coach Corniel van Zyl noted that the loan is intended to bolster Wilde’s development in a high-performance setting while providing him with additional playing time in the United Rugby Championship. The former Wales Under-20s player will represent Cardiff’s second team in the Super Rygbi Cymru competition when he is not appearing for the Ospreys.
