Soldiers from the 26 Task Force Brigade Garrison, part of Operation HADIN KAI, successfully located and destroyed an improvised explosive device found within a farming region of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported the incident via social media, noting that the device was found around 9:50 a.m. on July 15. The discovery occurred during a routine military patrol near the Dagari section of the forest, located in the Bama Local Government Area.
Authorities believe the explosives were hidden by militants intended to strike both military personnel and local farmers attempting to work their land. Upon finding the device, the soldiers secured the perimeter and conducted a controlled detonation on-site to remove the danger.
This mission is a component of a larger strategy under Operation HADIN KAI designed to clear the area of hazards and protect civilians. Troops remain actively engaged in patrolling and clearing routes across the North-East to prevent future threats from hidden explosives.
