Scotland preps for Fiji encounter following South Africa loss

Scotland aims to bounce back from their narrow loss to South Africa as they prepare to face a motivated Fiji side at Murrayfield.

Scotland is preparing for their final summer match against Fiji at Murrayfield this Saturday. This follows a difficult defeat to South Africa in Pretoria. While South African coach Rassie Erasmus offered high praise to the Scottish side, forwards coach John Dalziel dismissed the compliments, noting that the team is no longer satisfied with moral victories.

Dalziel acknowledged that the squad needs to be more clinical after failing to capitalize on 11 entries into the South African red zone. Despite the frustration, he believes Scotland is narrowing the gap with the world’s top teams. The team is now focused on securing wins rather than just delivering strong performances.

Fiji enters the contest looking to recover from a heavy loss to England. Although Scotland has historically dominated Fiji at home, the visitors remain a dangerous side. Coach Gregor Townsend faces injury absences, including Rory Darge and Kyle Steyn, but is expected to rotate the squad. Emerging players like Max Williamson and Gregor Hiddleston are likely to play key roles as Scotland looks to conclude their summer program on a high note.
