Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, asserted on Tuesday that opposition factions should not anticipate winning the 2027 presidential election through mere rhetoric. Speaking during the inauguration of a water supply project in the Bwari Area Council, Wike emphasized that securing the presidency requires substance rather than hollow noise.
The minister highlighted that both President Bola Tinubu and his political allies are ready to counter any strategies employed by opponents in the lead-up to the 2027 polls. According to Wike, political leadership is earned through dedication rather than spontaneous ambition.
The Bwari water project is part of a series of initiatives commemorating the third anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration. Wike noted that this occasion marked the 50th official project commissioning in the FCT since May 2023. Beyond water infrastructure, the administration has focused on road construction, including the completion of routes in Ushafa and the upcoming 17-kilometer road linking Bwari to Kubwa. Wike added that another 10 projects are slated for unveiling before January, underscoring the government’s commitment to development across both central and satellite areas.
