Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has confirmed that the squad is fully prepared to defend their crown at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. As reported by DAILY POST, the team, managed by Justine Madugu, is aiming to secure an 11th championship title when the tournament kicks off in Morocco next week.
The current titleholders find themselves in a group alongside Zambia, Malawi, and Egypt. This year’s competition holds extra weight, as it doubles as the qualifying process for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Nnadozie emphasized that the team is dedicated to earning their spot in that global event as well.
Regarding their strategy, Nnadozie explained that they must approach every match with discipline to avoid the pitfalls of arrogance. She stressed the importance of remaining composed to achieve both the trophy defense and World Cup qualification. With the tournament expanding to include 16 teams instead of 12, the Brighton goalkeeper acknowledged that the increased field will heighten competition, though she remains confident in the team’s focused mindset.
