The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the successful rescue of a farmer who was recently abducted. Owoade Matthew, who was taken on July 13, is now safe.
This update was provided by Olayinka Ayanlade, the spokesperson for the command, in a document shared with the press on Monday evening. According to the report, the victim was seized while traveling along the Igbojaye–Budo Aare Bush Road. Police officers carried out the rescue operation, allowing the victim to regain his freedom earlier today.
Ayanlade confirmed that the survivor is currently undergoing medical observation. Authorities are actively pursuing the perpetrators and intend to bring them to justice. Once the medical evaluation is finished, the victim will assist investigators to help track down and prosecute everyone involved in the kidnapping.
