Omoyele Sowore Pledges to Abolish WAEC and NECO Fees in 2027 Presidential Bid

African Action Congress candidate Omoyele Sowore promises to abolish WAEC and NECO fees and provide free education from nursery to university if elected in 2027.

Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, has announced plans to eliminate examination fees for the West African Examination Council and the National Examination Council if he wins the presidency. The candidate unveiled this proposal on Monday as part of a broader education strategy for the country.

Sowore aims to provide free education from the nursery level through university. He argued that a child’s academic journey should never be restricted by their family’s income, stating that schooling is a fundamental right rather than a privilege. His proposed policy includes the implementation of student grants, the improvement of classroom infrastructure, and the provision of higher wages for educators.

The candidate described this initiative as a revolutionary commitment rather than a standard political promise. He urged citizens to review and discuss the plan, which he claims will ensure that poverty does not dictate the future of any Nigerian child.
