Ooni of Ife Commends Security Forces for Successful Rescue of Oyo Students

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi praised Nigerian security forces and political leadership following the safe rescue of kidnapped students and teachers in Oyo state.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, stated that the recovery of kidnapped students and their educators highlights the commendable courage of national security forces in protecting the populace. He lauded the strong leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the assistance offered by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, throughout the ordeal.

A statement from the monarch’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, noted that the release of the victims after 56 days in captivity provides great relief to their relatives. It also serves as proof of the federal government’s dedication to securing Nigerian lives. The Ooni specifically praised the skill and fortitude shown by the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Department of State Services, and the Nigeria Police Force during the operation.

Addressing the families, the Ooni offered his congratulations on the end of their long period of uncertainty. He remarked that the mission’s success demonstrates the power of cooperation between government bodies and local communities. He further urged authorities to maintain vigilance to prevent future attacks on schools and vulnerable populations.
