The Enugu State Forest Guard has introduced a directive titled Headquarters Standing Operational Order No. 178/2026. Announced by Commander Dr. Akinbayo Olasoji, the policy sets strict regulations for uniforms, grooming, equipment, and professional conduct across the organization.
These reforms support Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s goal to create a technologically advanced and highly disciplined security force. According to Assistant Superintendent Geraldine Chiagozie, the order aims to unify the appearance of officers and strengthen the command structure as the agency gains greater public recognition.
The new regulations mandate specific attire for field deployments and administrative roles while banning improvised weapons, civilian clothing, and unauthorized gear during duty hours. Commanding officers are now required to perform regular inspections to guarantee that all personnel adhere to these standards. The Provost Unit is tasked with enforcing these rules throughout all state units immediately.
Dr. Olasoji emphasized that these changes are designed to foster an institutional culture of accountability and dignity. The agency remains focused on intelligence-led operations and maintaining strong community ties to improve public safety throughout the state.
