Inspector-General Olatunji Disu has deployed AIG Dankombo Morris and additional tactical forces to Plateau State to stabilize the region after an attack in Bokkos.

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has dispatched Assistant Inspector-General Dankombo Morris to Plateau State to manage the aftermath of a violent assault on the Kawel community in the Bokkos region. This directive includes sending extra mobile units and tactical squads to reinforce regional security and prevent future violence.

During a visit to the district on Tuesday, Morris met with traditional leaders and government officials to evaluate the situation. Bokkos Council Chairman Amalau Samuel Amalau praised the quick police response, though he requested a lasting security presence to protect citizens. Hajara Yunana of the Women in Politics Initiative echoed these concerns, emphasizing the need for tangible results and advanced surveillance tools to better serve impacted families.

AIG Morris formally condemned the killings, describing them as inhumane. He promised that those responsible for the tragedy would be captured and prosecuted. The police have requested that local residents remain vigilant and provide useful information to help authorities secure the area. The situation is currently reported to be under police control, with officials encouraging citizens to resume their daily routines safely.
