Clement Ogbuagu, the outgoing Director of Highways Construction and Rehabilitation at the Federal Ministry of Works, has emphasized that robust road networks are essential for national economic expansion. Speaking at his farewell ceremony in Abuja, he encouraged the Federal Government to provide consistent and prompt financing for infrastructure projects to prevent stagnation.
Reflecting on his tenure, Ogbuagu celebrated the integration of concrete pavement technology, which he noted has significantly increased road durability. He lauded the Ministry of Works for embracing modern construction methods. Additionally, he advised public servants to maintain high ethical standards and professional diligence to ensure successful careers.
The departing official also championed the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan, highlighting the importance of ongoing digital transformation. He argued that transitioning away from paper-based operations will boost governmental efficiency. Leadership at the ministry, including the Minister of State for Works, Mohammed Goronyo, and Permanent Secretary Rafiu Adeladan, praised his exemplary service, hard work, and commitment to the nation throughout his career.
