The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has adjusted the retail cost of Premium Motor Spirit upward. On Tuesday, a market check conducted by DAILY POST revealed that state-operated stations in Abuja and nearby regions are now selling petrol at N1,270 per litre, up from the previous rate of N1,155.
This adjustment represents a price hike of N115 per litre. Reports indicate that various NNPCL and MRS locations in Abuja suspended operations on Monday, while other stations implemented higher prices during a period of significant volatility within the nation’s downstream oil industry.
Marketers and depot operators have now raised fuel prices twice within a seven-day period. This follows the recent decision by the Dangote Refinery to begin selling its refined petroleum products exclusively in dollars.
