Abuja arrest made after driver allegedly steals employer’s vehicle

Police in Ondo State have apprehended a 40-year-old driver in Abuja for allegedly stealing his employer’s Hyundai car after dropping her off at a church in Akure.

Law enforcement officers in Ondo State have taken 40-year-old Adesola Ogunrotifa into custody for the reported theft of his employer’s Hyundai sedan. The incident occurred after the driver dropped his employer, Mrs. Remilekun, at the Christ Apostolic Church in Akure for Sunday services.

Authorities allege that Ogunrotifa drove away with the vehicle while his employer was inside the church. Following a formal report, detectives from the Akure B-Division utilized investigative intelligence to trace the suspect to Abuja, where he was successfully arrested. The stolen vehicle was also recovered during the operation.

DSP Jimoh Abayomi, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest and the recovery of the car. He praised the investigating team for their rapid response and effective use of intelligence. Abayomi stressed that the police remain dedicated to securing the region and encouraged the public to stay alert by reporting any suspicious behavior to the authorities.
