Nigerian military neutralizes militants and prevents pipeline sabotage

Nigerian Army units engaged in multi-state operations, neutralizing two terrorists, rescuing four hostages, and preventing a crude oil pipeline attack.

Over the past day, Nigerian Army personnel conducted successful missions across Taraba, Kogi, and Rivers states, resulting in the neutralization of two militants and the rescue of four individuals held captive.

The operations also effectively stopped an attempted pipeline explosion.

In Taraba, soldiers from the 93 Battalion encountered militants in a forested region near Akate. The ensuing confrontation led to the death of two assailants, with soldiers recovering an AK-47 rifle, various ammunition, and communication devices.

Meanwhile, in Kogi, members of the 21 Battalion worked alongside local vigilantes to secure the release of four travelers on the Anyigba–Itobe road. The captors abandoned the victims near a stream while retreating from military pressure, and search operations remain active for those still missing.

Furthermore, in Rivers state, intelligence led the 5 Battalion to intervene in an attempted attack on a crude oil pipeline in the Ahoada West region.

The rapid deployment forced the perpetrators to escape before they could carry out the damage. Separately, troops from the 12 Brigade overcame an ambush attempt on the Kabba–Okene road, causing the attackers to flee.
