Soldiers from the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, working alongside Forest Guards, successfully stopped a vehicle transporting suspected stolen animals in the Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the incident through his social media account.
During a standard patrol on the morning of July 7, the joint security forces identified a suspicious vehicle on the Kangiwa–Kamba Road at approximately 6:28 a.m. Upon inspection, officers recovered 14 goats, four rams, a mobile phone, and N17,600 in cash. The individuals involved were detained and turned over to the Nigeria Police Force for formal questioning and potential legal action. Authorities also transferred the seized livestock and items to the police to assist with their inquiries.
This mission aligns with broader strategies implemented by security agencies to address livestock rustling and other threats affecting rural residents in Kebbi State and throughout the North-West zone.
