Femi Adesina, the former spokesperson for late President Muhammadu Buhari, has stated that widespread discontent among Nigerian youth stems from an inability to secure stable employment or achieve a decent standard of living. Speaking at the inaugural annual lecture of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Aba Ibeji, held at Mauve 21 in Oyo State, Adesina identified a persistent crisis in leadership as the primary cause for the nation’s decline.
During his address, titled “Nigeria’s Kinetics: How Long?”, he argued that the country possesses all the essential components for development, including vast natural resources, a substantial young workforce, and strategic geography. Despite this potential, he noted that the nation has failed to convert these assets into actual prosperity. Adesina urged current leaders to align their actions with their stated goals, emphasizing that the gap between rhetoric and policy has prevented Nigerians from benefiting from their country’s inherent wealth.
