Adamawa State Legislature Approves Tenancy Regulation Legislation

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed the Tenancy and Recovery of Premises Bill to regulate landlord-tenant relations and resolve disputes.

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has officially approved a new bill designed to manage the interactions between property owners and renters. This legislation, known as the Tenancy and Recovery of Premises Bill, intends to safeguard the interests of both groups while offering structured methods for settling disagreements.

The assembly passed the measure following the submission of a report from the Committee on Housing and Urban Development, led by Ganye Constituency representative Misa Musa. The framework is intended to formalize tenancy agreements and clarify procedures for the recovery of residential property to minimize conflict.

Speaker Bathiya Wesley has instructed the Clerk to finalize a clean copy of the document. This version will be sent to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his official review and signature.
