The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) have officially registered their presidential candidates on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal for the upcoming 2027 general elections. Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC National Publicity Secretary, confirmed the filing of documents for presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi. Abdullahi characterized the submission as a significant advancement in the party’s strategic planning and their objective to present a viable leadership alternative to the public.
Simultaneously, NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi finalized his own nomination documentation. In his commentary, Obi challenged the current state of governance, urging the government to prioritize national crises such as insecurity and hunger over political maneuvering. He specifically advocated for INEC to increase transparency by publicly disclosing the academic credentials of all candidates, arguing that such openness is vital for restoring voter trust.
The NDC vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, also verified that his nomination details have been uploaded. During a meeting with party leader Henry Seriake Dickson in Abuja, Kwankwaso discussed his recent campaign efforts in the North-West region. Dickson validated the status of the ticket, affirming that the party remains committed to its objectives for the 2027 election cycle as parties continue to align with the electoral commission’s established schedule.
