Ekiti Election: PDP Flagbearer Oluyede Reports BVAS Issues and Voter Intimidation

PDP candidate Wole Oluyede has criticized the ongoing Ekiti governorship election, citing Bimodal Voter Accreditation System failures and reports of intimidation at his polling unit.

Wole Oluyede, the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate for Ekiti State, has voiced his frustration regarding the election process in the Ugele/Arokun Ward of the Ikere Local Government Area. After casting his ballot at Polling Unit 006, Oluyede reported that technical failures with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, prevented numerous citizens from participating. He further cited instances of voter intimidation occurring within the ward. Despite these obstacles, he maintained optimism regarding his chances of winning the gubernatorial race.

The polling station saw a high turnout of senior citizens during the early hours of the morning. This election is viewed as a primary competition between Oluyede and the incumbent All Progressives Congress governor, Biodun Oyebanji. Concurrently, Isaac Fayose, the younger sibling of former governor Ayo Fayose, claimed that irregularities were affecting the voting process throughout the state.
