The body of an individual previously declared missing was located at an unlicensed mining zone within the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. Security specialist Zagazola Makama announced the discovery via social media. Military personnel from Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace initiated a search mission after receiving reports that a man named Jerry vanished from Rantya on the morning of June 29.
Assisted by the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, the troops conducted a thorough sweep of the area. They ultimately found the victim at a mining site, noting that the body exhibited evidence of both machete wounds and gunshot injuries. Initial findings suggest the man had traveled to the location to engage in unauthorized mining. Authorities are currently conducting further inquiries to identify the perpetrators and understand the events that led to his death.
