OK Movement Supports Rabiu Kwankwaso in N10 Billion Legal Battle Against Primate Ayodele

The OK Movement has rallied behind Rabiu Kwankwaso, supporting his demand for an apology and his threat of a N10 billion lawsuit against Primate Elijah Ayodele over defamatory remarks.

The OK Movement, an organization backing the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, has officially denounced disparaging comments made by Primate Elijah Ayodele, head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church.

Following the nomination of Kwankwaso as Obi’s running mate, Ayodele publicly claimed that the former governor would ultimately betray Obi. In response, legal representatives for Kwankwaso, Magaji Mato Ibrahim, SAN & Co., issued a formal notice giving the cleric 24 hours to issue a public apology across major media outlets or face a N10 billion defamation lawsuit.

On Wednesday, the OK Movement took to X to support this legal action, labeling the cleric’s remarks as a malicious attempt to ruin Kwankwaso’s character. The group has insisted that the primate must retract his statement and apologize immediately. The organization emphasized that public discourse requires factual accuracy, noting that accountability is vital for the health of the nation.
