Nasarawa Amazons clinched the 2026 Nigeria Women’s President Federation Cup title by defeating Heartland Queens 6-5 in a penalty shootout. This victory marks the third time the Lafia-based side has secured the championship, adding to their previous wins in 2005 and 2019.
For Heartland Queens, it was a historic first-time appearance in the final. They initially took the lead when Johnson Chizoba scored one minute into the second half. However, Nasarawa Amazons managed to level the score in the 69th minute courtesy of a goal from substitute Judith Adaobi.
As neither team was able to break the deadlock during regulation time, the match was decided by penalties. Nasarawa Amazons successfully converted six of their spot-kicks to Heartland’s five, ensuring they walked away with the trophy. Meanwhile, the men’s competition is set to conclude with a final match between El-kanemi Warriors and Ikorodu City.
