FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has urged Adeniyi Adeyemi, who identifies as the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, to face his accusations against Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, instead of fleeing. During a recent media briefing in Abuja, Wike noted that top government officials often face baseless attacks from individuals aiming to discredit the administration.
Wike argued that if Adeyemi possessed legitimate evidence, he should present it to security services and the Chief of Staff directly. He pointed out that digital records of communication between the two exist, which could verify the claims. Furthermore, Wike detailed a personal experience where his own family was targeted by false allegations regarding a government land payment, which he dismissed as a clear blackmail attempt. He refused to settle the matter privately, choosing instead to expose the false narrative.
Refuting claims that Adeyemi is hiding for safety, Wike questioned the validity of such fears. He insisted that instead of using unverified reports as a reason to demand an official’s resignation, authorities should conduct thorough investigations to determine the truth behind these accusations.
