Wike Challenges ADC Criticism, Highlights Tinubu’s Road Infrastructure Achievements

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike defended the administration’s infrastructure focus, arguing that the ADC’s criticism inadvertently highlights the success of President Tinubu’s road projects.

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated on Thursday that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has effectively acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s success in expanding road infrastructure. Wike emphasized that robust road networks serve as the fundamental basis for development globally.

The minister addressed recent remarks from the ADC, which had suggested that citizens cannot subsist on roads alone. He responded during the inauguration of an interchange connecting the Jahi and Gwarimpa districts. The project was unveiled to commemorate the President’s one-year anniversary, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio attending on behalf of President Tinubu.

Wike noted that by critiquing the focus on infrastructure, the opposition party implicitly recognized the administration’s progress in that sector. He further argued that roads are essential engines for growth, as they are necessary for accessing schools, agricultural areas, and healthcare facilities.
