On Thursday, American military forces initiated another series of attacks against Iran. This update was officially confirmed by the United States Central Command, or CENTCOM, via a social media post.
CENTCOM reported that the operation began at 2 p.m. ET, marking the sixth straight night of strikes aimed at weakening Iran’s military infrastructure. Despite these ongoing actions, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that Tehran remains interested in diplomatic engagement. Leavitt indicated that Iranian officials are seeking a deal with the United States to mitigate the impact of the heavy losses inflicted by American forces.
To support this strategy, the U.S. has maintained a significant presence in the region, with over 10,000 personnel—including sailors, Marines, and airmen—carrying out a blockade of Iranian maritime traffic. Backed by two aircraft carriers, dozens of aircraft, and more than 20 warships, the military is strictly enforcing these restrictions. While CENTCOM has already diverted two commercial ships and disabled one non-compliant vessel, Leavitt clarified that the strait remains accessible to any shipping traffic not involved in trade with Iran.
