Totoa Auvaa cleared by Saracens following incident involving England cricketers

Saracens have decided not to sanction academy forward Totoa Auvaa after an investigation into a nightclub incident involving Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson.

Saracens rugby player Totoa Auvaa faces no disciplinary consequences following his involvement in a nightclub altercation with England cricket captain Ben Stokes and bowler Gus Atkinson. The incident occurred while the cricketers were out celebrating their opening Test victory, leading to their exclusion from the subsequent match against New Zealand.

While the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) found that Stokes and Atkinson violated a midnight curfew and failed to uphold contractual standards of conduct, they were cleared of any blame regarding the physical violence that transpired. During the altercation, an England security staff member suffered injuries after allegedly being struck by the 21-year-old Saracens academy player.

Saracens conducted an internal review and expressed continued support for Auvaa. The club criticized the ECB for failing to include them in the investigative process. After concluding their own inquiry, Saracens stated that no further measures would be taken, effectively closing the case.
