Three Teachers, Six Pupils Seriously Injured in Ibadan Auto Crash
At least three teachers and six school pupils sustained serious injuries in a lone accident along the Akala Expressway in Ibadan, Oyo State. The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday, February 28, 2025, when a vehicle transporting students from Zenith Group of Schools, Akeyo, Muslim area of Ibadan, for an excursion, suffered brake failure, tumbled, and veered onto the other side of the road. Morocha police According to one of the pupils, the school owner was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The Nigerian Tribune reported that more than 20 students were on board, heading to the Railway Station in Omi, Ibadan, for the excursion. Emergency responders, including operatives of the Nigeria Police Force and the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), arrived at the scene. The injured victims were taken to a hospital for medical attention, while the other pupils were transported to the Kuola Divisional Headquarters of the Nigerian Police in Ibadan.
