Thierry Henry has confirmed he is aware of who will succeed Didier Deschamps as the head coach of the French national team. Following France’s 2-0 loss to Spain in the World Cup semi-finals on Tuesday, the Arsenal icon spoke with Fox Sports to reflect on the transition.
Deschamps, who has led the squad since 2012, previously declared he would step down once the tournament concludes. While an official announcement is pending, widespread speculation identifies former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as the intended successor.
Expressing his gratitude for Deschamps’ tenure, Henry stated, Thank you for what you have done as a coach. He also addressed the upcoming third-place playoff match and offered well wishes to both the outgoing manager and his likely replacement, fondly referring to Zidane by his nickname, Zizou.
