Springboks dominate Wales in seven-try shutout in Durban

South Africa cruised to a comfortable win against a scoreless Wales side in Durban, securing a bonus-point victory in the Nations Championship.

South Africa secured a dominant seven-try victory over Wales in Durban during the third round of the Nations Championship. The world champions controlled the match throughout, with tries from Jasper Wiese, Cobus Reinach, Jessie Kriel, Jaco Williams, Kurt-Lee Arendse, Herschel Jantjies, and Paul de Villiers. The Springboks managed this decisive win despite resting several key players, including captain Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth.

Wales struggled significantly, failing to register a single point for the second consecutive match against the South Africans. This result extends the aggregate score between the two sides to 116-0 over their last two meetings, highlighting a massive performance gap. For Wales head coach Steve Tandy, the defeat marks a difficult end to a challenging season, following previous losses to Fiji and Argentina.

Rassie Erasmus utilized the match to test his depth, handing debuts to four players, including 20-year-old fly-half Vusi Moyo. While Wales briefly showed signs of resistance, they were ultimately overwhelmed by the Springboks’ physical intensity and effective set-pieces. The win maintains South Africa’s status as the top-ranked side in international rugby, while Wales remains in 12th place.
