Spain’s triumphant national football team arrived back in Madrid on Monday following their 1-0 win against Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final. The Iberia flight reached Madrid-Barajas airport at 14:30 local time, with a Spanish flag visible from the cockpit window.
Head coach Luis de la Fuente exited the aircraft first, followed by tournament standout Rodri, who proudly displayed the championship trophy. Accompanying them were team officials including Spanish Football Federation President Rafael Louzan.
The squad is scheduled to visit King Felipe VI at Zarzuela Palace, followed by a formal reception hosted by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at Moncloa Palace. Later, the team will celebrate with fans during an open-top bus parade through the city, culminating in a ceremony at Cibeles square. Authorities estimate that one million supporters will gather in the capital to honor the victorious players.
