Activist Omoyele Sowore has characterized the recent apprehension of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claimed to lead the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, as a significant attempt to mask the truth. Sowore stated on X that the manner of Adeyemi’s arrest suggests an official concealment rather than a pursuit of justice.
Sowore insisted that investigators should also focus on Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. The activist pointed to the suspicious death of a person allegedly involved in a 400 million naira bribe linked to the Chief of Staff, as well as the subsequent demolition of the hotel where the transaction supposedly occurred. He accused the current administration of actively hindering the justice process.
Adeyemi faces an eight-count charge including forgery, fraud, and impersonation. Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his arrest after he failed to appear for his arraignment.
